Rupes® 982.500 5" Rotary Velcro Backing Plate.

Compared to typical rotary backing plates, the Rupes 982.500 5" Rotary Velcro Backing Plate is super-lightweight. Weighing in at only 78 grams (typical is 40%-50% higher), this plate touts 5/8-11 red anodized aluminum threads.

Its white injection-molded foam body features an outer edge that has been finessed to allow increased contourability of the pad when used on complex surfaces, or for those times when the pad must be tilted on edge for targeted buffing. This is a direct replacement for the factory-supplied backing plate that comes with the with the LH19E Rupes Rotary Polisher.
