Occasionally, BigFoot® needs a new shoe.
The Rupes LHR75 BigFoot 3" Air-Powered Mini Random Orbital Polisher is one wicked machine. Its massive 15mm ø orbit and 11,000 RPM top-speed can stress the backing plate's Velcro® hooks, causing them to break.
Technique, overall use, and the type of work being accomplished can also impact the life of the plate. Should you accidentally drop the machine (and the plate is impacted in the fall), its thin metal mounting pad can bend, causing the plate to wobble something fierce.
Eventually, in one way or another... the backing plate will need to be replaced.
The Rupes 990.201 is designed for use with Rupes 62/70mm series of Foam Buffing Pads. It's a good idea to keep at least one spare on hand if you own an LHR75, as they are not all that easy to locate in a pinch.
01-23-2017 Note: This product has been discontinued, but we have a replacement, which is a TRIMMED down version of the Rupes 990.007. Performance of the trimmed plate is on par with the discontinued plate. Therefore, should you choose to order this item, the trimmed 990.007 will be sent in its place.
