The Mirka 1125 1-1/4" (32mm) Vinyl-Faced Backing Plate is built using an injection molded design (no glue!), making them very durable. Heavy-duty vinyl face can withstand a relentless quantity of rosette changes. The Mirka 1125G 1-1/4" (32mm) Velcro-Faced Backing Plate is built using an injection molded design (no glue!), making them very durable. Heavy duty micro-hook Velcro works with all loop-style sanding rosettes, discs, & buffing pads.Although the Rupes LHR75e 3" Mini Random Orbital Polisher is compact, it was not originally designed for use with 1" or 2" buffing pads. This extension is outfitted with a Mirka 1125G 32mm Velcro Backing Plate. Its weight and length have been dialed-in specifically for use with the LHR75e.This extension was built specifically for use with the Rupes LHR75e MINI Polisher. Random orbital machines featuring a large stroke require critical balancing of the rotating assembly. Balance is so sensitive, that an uptick in vibration can be felt if the LHR75e is test run with this extension installed, and the attached buffing pad is INSTALLED versus REMOVED! The Mirka 1125G 32mm (1-1/4") Velcro Backing Plate actually measures 30mm in diameter. This extension features a Mirka 1125G 32mm (1.25") Velcro Backing Plate. In manufacturing facilities, it is common to use 32mm sanding rosettes, so this backing plate ACTUALLY measures in at 30mm. The installation of an extension will EXPOSE the machine's rotating assembly. It is therefore CRITICAL to remain aware of hand & finger placement, as well as any close-lying objects that could be pulled into the rotating assembly.Have a handheld drill, or Dremel-style tool handy? These Shaft-Mount Mandrels outfitted with 1-1/4" Backing Plates turn drill-action into a versatile rotary-action polishing machine! Mandrels are available in 1/8"-diameter and 1/4"-diameter mounting shafts.Drill mountable, shaft-style mandrels! Available in 1/8" and 1/4" diameter shafts. Choose between the Mirka 1125 Vinyl-Face 32mm Backing Plate, or the Mirka 1125G 32mm Velcro Backing Plate. Turn a Dremel-style rotary tool (or a handheld drill) into a compact polishing machine!Shaft-mount mandrel. Available in 1/8" and 1/4" shafts. A Mirka 32mm Velcro Backing Plate allows attachment of our Spot Buff Foam Pads, which measure a bit over one-inch in diameter (1-1/4").Our Spot-Buff Backing Plates w/Extensions fit a variety of sanding & machines.

Shown:
• Mirka ROS150NV Pneumatic Orbital De-Nibber (5.0mm orbit dia. / 0-8,000 RPM)
• Mirka MR-30 3" Pneumatic Rotary Polisher (0-3,000 RPM)Out of the box, the Rupes TA50 2" Random Orbital Sander/Polisher is a WHOLE lot of fun to use. It's compact & powerful, and has a seemingly endless RPM range. when paired with an extension-mounted Mirka 1-1/4" (32mm) Backing Plate, it becomes very versatile as well.Compared to the Rupes TA50, Mirka's ROS150 NV (ROS = Random Orbital Sander / 1 = 1-inch / 5 = 5.0mm orbit diameter / NV = Non-Vacuum ready) delivers a completely different feel. When paired with an extension-mounted Mirka 1-1/4" (32mm) Backing Plate, it becomes a fast-cutting, fantastic finishing mini sanding & polishing machine!

Shown outfitted with a custom cut 30mm-diameter Interface Pad, and a custom cut 32mm-diameter Mirka Autonet Net Mesh Sanding Disc. This 1/8" tall, ultra low profile Extra-Cut Microfiber Disc looks innocent enough, but make no mistake: It'll turn your Rupes TA50 Pneumatic Random Orbital Sander/Polisher, or your Harbor Freight 93629 2" Mini Orbital Sander into a swirl-killing, ridge-leveling beast!

The typical intermediate foam core has been eliminated, which minimizes motion-robbing cushioning (super important when using these small stroke machines for the purpose of heavy cutting or leveling).

Works incredibly well on rotary-action machines, stomping the performance of a comparably-sized wool pad (which is why we don't offer one!)

Measures only 1-1/4" (32mm) in diameter. These 1-1/4" (32mm) diameter maroon foam cutting pads are designed for removing harsh surface defects, but will not scour most surfaces. They can even serve triple duty as a polishing or finishing pad, and can be used to apply metal or plastic polishes. Super-low profile (7/16" tall), which is ideal for short stroke random orbital sanders & polishers. These 1-1/4" (32mm) diameter yellow foam polishing pads are designed for removing swirls and mild defects. They're a great pad for applying fine polishes and waxes, and can also be used to apply metal or plastic polishes. For tight-area sanding & polishing.
Tiny pads & discs are must haves for working in tight areas, on small parts, or when there is a desire to keep the work area compact. Our backing plates, extensions, and pads can help to minimize the stress associated with working in critical situations. Hook-faced & vinyl-faced backing plates allow for the attachment of PSA (peel & stick adhesive) sanding rosettes, or for Velcro-style buffing pads & sanding discs.

There are two backing plates available:
Velcro face (32mm | 1-1/4" dia.) 1125G
Vinyl face (32mm | 1-1/4" dia.) 1125

   Three thread sizes are available:
1/4-20 female (This is the factory thread size)
5/16-24 female (Requires re-threading / $4.00 additional fee)
• M6-1.0 metric female (Requires re-threading / $1.00 additional fee)

Adaptors & extensions, for machine polishing.
These devices utilize stainless steel threaded stud, nuts & washers.
Exposed threads are smoothed away, or covered via stainless steel sleeve.

   Shaft-mount mandrels, for chuck-style drills.
Mandrels are available with 1/8" or 1/4" mounting shafts.
Dremel-style tools commonly require an 1/8" shaft.
Chuck-mount handheld drills can utilize both 1/8" and 1/4" shafts.
However, keep in mind that 1/4" shafts are much more sturdy.

Choose the ideal adaptor, extension, or mandrel.

Adaptor
Mounts the backing plate directly onto the machine. No deliberate lengthening of the space between the backing plate and the machine.

Short Extension (1-1/4" length, varies up to +1/4")
Increases the distance between the backing plate and machine at least one-inch, but usually an additional 1/8" to 3/8". When using the 2" plate on the Rupes TA50 or Chicago Pneumatic 93629, extensions longer than 1" should be used with caution, and at very low machine speeds only

• Medium Extension (1-1/2" to 1-3/4" length, varies up to +1/4")
Increases the distance between the backing plate and machine
at least one and a half inches.

Long Extension (2" length, varies up to +1/4")
Increases the distance between the backing plate and machine at least two inches, but usually and additional 1/8" to 3/8". For rotary-action machines only! Installation on orbital and random orbital polishers will increase stress on the spindle bearings, and negatively impact machine balance (making it difficult to control).

• Shaft-Mount Mandrel
Available in 1/8" & 1/4" diameter mounting shafts.

Adaptors and extensions can be mounted to a variety of tools, including these popular machines:

  M6-1.0 thread
• Rupes® BigFoot iBrid Nano (threads directly into the machine)

• Rupes® TA50 2" Random Orbital Sander/Polisher
• Rupes® LHR75e 3" BigFoot MINI Polisher (MUST use extension made specifically for the LHR75e..!)

  5/16-24 thread
• A multitude of machines that feature an 8mm orbit diameter use this thread size, including: Meguiar's G110v2, MT300 / Porter Cable 7424, 7335, 7336, 7424XP / Harbor Freight's Chicago Electric 62862, 69924 etc. / Griot's 10739, 10813

  1/4-20 thread
• Mirka® MR-30 3" Bulldog Rotary Polisher • 1/4-20 thread
• Harbor Freight's Central Pneumatic 93629 2" Mini Orbital Air Sander
  * (M6-1.0 thread was used on May 2016 & earlier models only)

  * If the machine uses M6-1.0 metric thread:
-The distance from the peak of one thread to the next will be 1mm.

-There will be approximately 26 threads per inch.

  * If the machine uses 1/4-20 thread:

-The distance peak-to-peak of six threads will be 1/4".
-There will be 20 threads per inch.

CAUTION! These extensions have not been safety or long-term tested. We are offering them as a convenience, so that these backing plates can be better utilized. By all means, if you are in need of a tried & tested mounting utensil, we encourage you to search out an alternate option. To date, there have been no reports of catastrophic extension or backing plate failure.

CAUTION! Keep fingers, hands, aprons, sleeves, & toweling away from the rotating assembly! The installation of a small-diameter backing plate OR an extension can EXPOSE the machine's rotating assembly (this includes the counterweight, and other rotating components), which is normally hidden away by the factory-sized backing plate. It is critical to remain aware of hand & finger placement while operating the machine, as well as any close-lying objects that could be pulled in to the rotating assembly.
