Rupes 2" Velcro Backing Plate - fits TA50

The Rupes TA50 2" Air-Powered Random Orbital Sander is primarily used as a polisher here in the USA. It's a tops out at 15,000 RPM, which can stress its tiny and pliable soft-edged backing plate.
Technique, overall use, and the type of work being accomplished can also impact the life of the plate. Should you accidentally drop the machine (and the plate is impacted in the fall), its metal stud can bend, causing the plate to wobble something fierce. Eventually, in one way or another... the backing plate will need to be replaced.
The Rupes 9P01.046 is a direct repacement for the factory installed unit. It's a good idea to keep at least one spare on hand if you own a TA50, as they are not all that easy to locate in a pinch.
