Built for ultra-high speed! The Rupes 9P06.060 30mm Vinyl-Face Backing Plate features a durable vinyl face. It is designed for use with all brands of PSA (peel and stick adhesive) sanding rosettes, including Mirka's Polarstar Spot Repair Discs, as well as their Waterproof Sanding Rosettes.The Rupes 9P06.060 30mm Vinyl-Face Backing Plate is factory supplied with the Rupes LD30 Pneumatic 30mm De-Nibber.

The Rupes LD30 30mm Air-Powered Orbital Denibber tops out at 7,500 RPM, which can stress its tiny backing plate. The 9P06.061 Vinyl-Faced 30mm Backing Plate is a direct repacement for the factory installed unit.  Use with PSA (peel & stick adhesive) sanding rosettes & discs.
 
Technique, overall use, and the type of work being accomplished can also impact the life of the plate. Should you accidentally drop the machine (and the plate is impacted in the fall), its metal stud can bend, causing the plate to wobble something fierce. Eventually, in one way or another... the backing plate will need to be replaced.

It's a good idea to keep at least one spare on hand if you own an LD30, as they are not easy to locate in a pinch.
