The safe way to remove stuck-on contaminants from paint, glass, metal, and plastic.

Meguiar's Professional Detailing Clay is infused with micro-fine abrasives. When pushed across a lubricated surface, the clay glides along and conforms its shape to the panel being cleaned.  The micro-fine abrasives loosen stuck on contaminants, embedding them into the clay.

There are two grades of clay available:

C2000 Blue Mild Detailing Clay
C2100 Red Aggressive Detailing Clay

In order to use Meguiar's Professional Detailing Clay properly, you'll need to use it in conjunction with a lubricating agent, so that the clay will glide along the surface. One of the best products to use for this task is Meguiar's #34 Final Inspection®. Spritz a bit of Final Inspection® onto the surface being cleaned and glide the clay across it with your hand.

Meguiar's Professional Detailing Clay will remove overspray, industrial fallout, bug debris, water spot residue, tree sap mist, road tar, and other surface contaminants.

Tip: Instead of using the entire clay bar, use a small portion. To use: tear a portion of clay from the bar, and conform it into a pancake shape, using your hands. Store the remainder of the clay in the provided container, until needed.  Although the clay itself does not typically leave visible scratches on hard surfaces, accumulated contaminants stuck to the clay might, so regularly inspect the clay for dirt and debris. If an abundance of debris is evident, knead the clay until a clean portion is exposed.

Relegate used clay to a secondary bin for use on grimy parts such as tailpipes, lower body cladding, and other "abused" areas of the vehicle.

Specifications & Tips
  • Approximate bar weight:
    7 ounces (200 grams)

  • Use smaller pieces of clay, rather than the entire bar at once

  • Use Meguiar's Final Inspection® as a surface lube (or another appropriate paint detail spray)
  • Approximate bar size:
    3-3/8" long x 1" tall x 2" wide

  • Water alone is not a satisfactory surface lube (the clay will stick to the surface!)

  • Do not use strong soap or detergent as a lube, as they will dissolve the clay
