980.027N & 981.321N | Rupes 5" & 6" Velcro Backing Plates.<br/><br/>The 5" plate fits all LHR15ES (Legacy), LHR15ll (Mark 2), and LHR15lll (Mark 3) BigFoot machines. It also fits all LHR12E BigFoot Duetto 5" Random Orbital Polishers.<br/><br/>The 6" plate fits all LHR21ES (Legacy), LHR21ll (Mark 2), and LHR21lll (Mark 3) BigFoot machines. <br/><br/>Since the mounting pads are identical (and both plates are virtually identical in weight), either will mount & perform well on 5" and 6" versions of the BigFoot machine.<br/><br/>980.027N | Rupes 5" Velcro Backing Plate.<br/><br/>The Rupes® 980.027N 5" Velcro Backing Plate is a direct replacement for machines such as the LHR15lll BigFoot (Mark 3) 5" Random Orbital Polisher (shown in this photo).<br/><br/>Fits all LHR15ES (Legacy), LHR15ll (Mark 2), and LHR15lll (Mark 3) machines. This plate also fits all LHR12E BigFoot Duetto 5" Random Orbital Polishers.<br/><br/>Actual diameter is 4-7/8". Weight is 124-126 grams.<br/><br/>The "N" in its part number refers to this being the updated or "new" version of this plate. The original LHR15 machine utilized a smaller backing plate mounting pad. 980.027N | Rupes 5" Velcro Backing Plate.

Rupes BigFoot Random Orbital Polishers are robust, well-built machines. Even the factory installed backing plate can last for years. But, accidents do happen. Should the backing plate sustain damage due to an inadvertent dropping of the machine or some other unforseen event, you'll be dead in the water unless you've got a replacement on hand. The Rupes 980.027N is a factory-direct replacement for the following 5" machines:

LHR15ES | LHR15II | LHR15III | LHR12E

This backing plate will also physically mount onto the following 6" machines:

LHR21ES | LHR21II | LHR21III

Note: The 980.027N 5" backing plate is 5 grams lighter than the Rupes 981.321N 6" backing plate (125g vs 130g). Although installing this plate onto machines originally designed for 6-inch plates will enable the use of 5-inch pads & discs, machine vibration & balance may be negatively affected.
