The Rupes LD30 30mm Air-Powered Orbital Denibber is capable of topping out at 7,500 oscillations per minute, which can really tax its tiny backing plate. Should a backing plate sustain damage due to an inadvertent dropping of the machine or some other unforseen event, you'll be dead in the water unless you've got a replacement on hand. The 9P06.061 is a factory-direct replacement for the Velcro-faced backing plate that was originallyshipped with the machine.
